Inclusivity

šŸ¤” How "Inclusive" is your organisation?

šŸ¤” Do you have a culture that encourages "Allyship", where leaders speak up for under represented groups and advocate inclusive action?

šŸ‘ Thank you to First Ascent Group and The Oakridge Centre for hosting a webinar this morning on "Allyship in Action - Bridging Divides and Fostering Inclusion".

šŸ™ Both speakers Jim Macleod CB CVO and Claire Isherwood (Assoc CIPD) shared some great insights and engaging stories about this topic.

šŸ™ Very powerful - thank you.

Some of leadership messages that stood out for me were:

šŸŽÆ Being a Role Model: leaders cast a shadow in organisations and their influence and actions can amplify behaviours.

šŸŽÆ Advocating Inclusivity: leaders can use their authority, influence and skills to drive change, particularly where minority groups are not heard.

šŸŽÆ Coaching & Mentoring: take the effort and energy to engage with your teams, listen to them, and do the right thing.

šŸŽÆ Consistency shifts Culture: Make diversity & Inclusion at the heart of everything you do -all year round

šŸ’Æ Getting a diverse a group working together is a recipe for creativity, innovation and creating brilliance - why wouldn't you want to do this?

šŸ“ˆ Don't just take my word for it - An article published today in the FT about a global study of 1,250 organisations on the links between gender equity and performance shows that "companies near gender parity have better financial results"
